I haven't had cable for about three months now. Not because I've decided to give it up or anything. I moved into the new house and just kept forgetting to call the cable company. And when I finally called last week, they told me it would be the 23rd before they got it hooked up.
So...I've been watching DVDs. I've been getting back into the X-Files love -- watching seasons 5 & 6 though none of the conspiracy episodes. More like Bad Blood, Post-Modern Prometheus, Triangle, Arcadia, Detour, Dreamland I and II, etc. And, God, when this show was good, it was fantastic.
Also been rewatching AtS S5 (I lent out S1 and S2 and haven't gotten them back yet). Again, when good, it was fantastic. I have to say I'm much more of a fan of the season once Spike was corporeal. That's not to say I only like the episodes that he's feature in -- I just think it found it took a little bit for S5 to find it way and that happened to occur around the time Spike became corporeal. One question, which episode is it that Spike walks into Angel's office with a briefcase, sits down at the table, opens the briefcase, and cracks open a beer? It's evidently in one of the two episodes I haven't watched from the last 2/3's but it's driving me crazy.
Lastly, this week I've been rewatching S5 of BtVS -- also fantastic. I found myself loving Spiral -- so fast-paced and lots of good moments -- Giles standing with the rest of the Scoobs on the side of road saying "Look, everything will be all right, we just need to stay here calmly. As soon as Buffy arrives--"[RV pulls up with Spike at the wheel]"--we'll feel oddly worse." But I've adored The Body, Forever, Checkpoint, Fool for Love, and The Gift. I still haven't managed to bring myself to watch Tough Love. And, well, The Weight of the World is still a rather boring episode, in my opinion, during the parts in Buffy's head. But, I dunno, Dawn wasn't too annoying -- I found myself sympathizing with her to a great deal (although not in Intervention -- she annoys me in that episode with the beginning of the stealing and bitching).
I've been doing a few movie commentaries -- Dodgeball has the best one: Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, and the writer/director whose name I can't recall. The Butterfly Effect also had a good commentary, in my opinion. However, most of the time, movie commentaries are little too much.
And, reading -- I have a recommendation -- Bruce Campbell's If Chins Ruled the World is fantastic. He's an interesting, humorous, and insightful writer, I think. I recommend it highly.
Anyway, back to work -- they're killing me here lately. Ugh.

It's "Underneath", the one where they get Lindsey out of the hell holding dimension. It's the episode right after "Shells" (Illyria escapes to find her temple).
Thanks for saying hello though!! Hello, back to you :)
I think the endgame of Buffy's S5 is pretty solid, Weight of the World excepted. That was a disappointing episode. I was really looking forward to that one, even. Psychic voyage in Buffy's head! Shame Buffy's head turned out to be such a dull place.
As to S5 Angel, I think Hellbound is one of the best episodes of the season. I still haven't watched my S5 DVDs yet, and really probably need to watch them to appreciate the entire arc.

Yeah, I enjoyed some of the earlier episodes like "Hellbound", but I agree that the season doesn't feel like it really kicks into gear until "Destiny". I don't know if that's because I'm a Spike fan or because it took a while for the season to find it's footing.
I still haven't read If Chins Ruled the World, but I have been eyeing Campbell's new book, How To Make Love The Bruce Campbell Way. With a title like that, it's bound to be good!
I must read If Chins!
